Album tasters

Some of our most popular music we've ever sung has been our medleys from musicals, and this is the first time we've brought five of them together in one epic package. Featuring huge medleys from five iconic shows, this album showcases one of the things that BeVox does best - musical theatre.

The five shows we've featured include real classics, such as Mary Poppins, hits from big names like Lloyd-Webber (Jesus Christ Superstar), and modern hits too (The Greatest Showman). We've got the classic Disney fairytale, Beauty & The Beast, alongside possibly the biggest and most well-known musical of the last fifty years, Les Misérables.

Recorded remotely, with each singer singing their own part at home before sending them to be mixed together, this album is a testament to the ingenuity and dedication of our singers. We're thrilled to be able to share it with you.

Number 1s

Ever since November 1952, when the first UK music charts were compiled, there has been a certain prestige about songs that have reached Number One. We've brought together 11 of them, from every decade since then, to form our collections of Number Ones. It ranges from the overblown pomp of Europe's "The Final Countdown" to the stripped-back simplicity of Gary Jules's cover of "Mad world" (originally by Tears for Fears). Our earliest hits are "Rock around the clock" and "Unchained melody", both from 1955, and our latest is Lewis Capaldi's emotional "Someone you loved". Some of the biggest names in pop and rock are represented too, such as Madonna, ABBA, Queen and The Beatles. It truly is a collection of great songs.

Together We Are One

This album has been created by over a hundred people, each of whom have recorded their voice whilst sat or stood in their own homes, without being able to hear the rest of the choir. None of them joined a choir because they wanted to sing on their own. None of them imagined, when they first started singing with us, that they'd become their own recording engineers, or that they'd be performing in their front rooms with headphones on whilst watching a video of a conductor. What they have achieved and overcome has been remarkable.

More than that, the support they've given to each other, and to us as the directors of the choir, has been an absolute lifeline. This is what being a community choir is really about - not just singing together, but supporting each other throughout everything. We chose songs for this album that reflected our belief in our community, and that community has brought the meaning of those songs to life.

...and more!

Our other albums include "The First Five Years" (a celebration of the music we sang in our first five years together as a choir), "Blue Skies" (a collection of songs inspired by the summer), and "Merry Christmas, Love BeVox" (our festive album).
