Our ethos

Supported excellence

We believe that people are capable of extraordinary things, if they are supported to exceed their own expectations. We want every member of the choir to thrive, to develop, and to grow. We foster an environment where mistakes are welcomed and seen as steps along the path to improvement, and where everyone, including the choir leader, supports each other to aim for excellence.

In practice, this means that choir sessions are about honing and shaping the songs, and asking for support with sections that aren't coming together. Singers take ownership of their own learning, they ask questions regularly, and they are invested in becoming better. The choir leaders are also continuously looking for ways to improve their leadership, and are always open to questions, suggestions and new ideas.
