About the event
BeVox, your local contemporary community choir, is thrilled to return to the Nottingham Albert Hall after a three-year break from live concerts. We invite you to join us for an afternoon of musical treats, ranging from pop and rock to swing, musical theatre and songs from the movies. Everything has a seasonal flavour, whether that's subtle ("A winter's tale"), or full-on Christmas (our title song for the concert, "We need a little Christmas"). We have music from Queen, Chris de Burgh, David Essex and Jason Mraz, alongside time-honoured classics such as "Sleigh ride" and "O holy night".
BeVox have been entertaining capacity crowds in their fun, family-friendly concerts since we were formed in 2010. The choir's unique blend of high-quality arrangements, professional presentation, and infectious enthusiasm have made us a hit with audiences across the East Midlands, Yorkshire, and beyond. We've done performances ranging from the very small (private events in retirement homes and hospitals), to the very large (ground-breaking theatrical concerts in major venues), with pretty much everything in-between. We've helped to raise over £75,000 for local and national charities, and even done seemingly spontaneous performances in public spaces such as shopping centres, railway stations, and outside Buckingham Palace!
We're delighted to welcome our guest choir for this concert, the West Bridgford Liberty Singers. The harmonious sound of The West Bridgford Liberty Singers was born in January 2018. They are a community choir accepting all singers and spreading happiness and joy wherever they sing. They sing pop music from across the decades in glorious four-part harmony, and we're thrilled that they're joining us for this special festive celebration at the Nottingham Albert Hall.
